A trained musician,
Alexa began her studies in music at the age of 3. She studied piano for
eleven years, violin for 5 years, vocal performance (belt and classical
style) for 3 years and percussion for 7 years. Her percussion studies
include Dumbek, Djembe, Tabla and Drum Set.
"As a dancer I find that drums speak to me more than any other instrument. Understanding rhythm improves my dancing, and dancing makes me a stronger drummer."
Her percussion skills can be heard on the latest album by Tokyo Vertigo. She often sits in with local bands and is an active member of Byrneworks, Rhythmalitia, and TrHANDSformation.
Alexa has also studied musical theatre, combining her talents in acting, singing and dancing. She has been in popular shows such as "Once Upon a Mattress", "Godspell" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown".
